About the Role
Multi-Phase is recruiting a professional Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to execute responsible, varied engineering assignments independently within regulated industrial utility architectures. The I&C Engineer performs independent engineering work related to automation, instrumentation, and distributed control systems. This role is responsible for designing, reviewing, and stamping control system deliverables in accordance with APEGS regulatory requirements. The engineer ensures compliance with provincial safety legislation, industrial control standards, and utility cybersecurity expectations.
What You'll Do
- Select field instruments, control valves, and automated devices.
- Develop PLC ladder logic, DCS configuration parameters, and safety interlock sequences.
- Produce schematic logic diagrams, control narratives, and installation details.
- Author technical specifications for instrumentation packages.
- Apply professional engineering stamps in accordance with APEGS requirements.
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation of distributed control systems.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and safety instrumented functions.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, or Systems Engineering.
- 5 to 10 years of professional control design or logic coding experience.
- Fully registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGS.
- Familiarity with modern DCS network structures and field instruments.
- Mandatory Criminal Record Check or Site Access Security Clearance.
- Completion of Fall Arrest and Confined Space Entry/Rescue training, as required for field access under Saskatchewan OHS Regulations.
- CSA‑certified 6‑inch steel‑toed safety boots.
