About the Role
Multi-Phase is seeking an industry-recognized technical authority to step into the role of Principal Electrical Engineer supporting massive, regulated utility frameworks and high-investment capital programs. In this high-visibility consultant capacity, you will exercise ultimate technical governance over teams of highly qualified professionals executing complex engineering applications. You will act as the master technical advisor, spearheading grid insulation criteria, safety standards, and quality frameworks. The Principal Electrical Engineer serves as the highest technical authority within the electrical discipline. This role provides strategic engineering governance, establishes protection and control philosophies, and validates complex system designs across large‑scale industrial and utility programs. The position requires mastery of high‑voltage systems, regulatory compliance, and risk‑based engineering decision‑making consistent with Saskatchewan utility standards.
What You'll Do
- Establish corporate protection and control philosophies aligned with provincial utility norms.
- Author system‑wide electrical standards, grid‑connection criteria, and equipment specifications.
- Assess insulation coordination, stability margins, and risk profiles for aging or critical electrical assets.
- Perform final technical validation of external engineering submissions.
- Provide functional leadership over senior engineers, guiding advanced competency development.
- Lead strategic technical reviews for major capital investments.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate or Post-Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 20+ years of distinguished engineering experience within electrical utilities or large distribution networks.
- Fully registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGS.
- Proven track record as a recognized expert in high-voltage utility protective systems.
- Mandatory Criminal Record Check or Site Access Security Clearance as applicable.
- Willingness to complete required site‑access safety orientations in accordance with Saskatchewan OHS Regulations.
- CSA‑certified 6‑inch steel‑toed safety boots.
